Could it have been the brilliant 2012 Tour win by Bradley Wiggins PLUS Chris Froomes amazing win this year? Was it the successful Olympics? Or was it simply that Yorkshire has some of the best cycling country in the UK, with wonderful scenery, great food and drink and, of course, a fantastic team at Welcome to Yorkshire who pulled out all the stops to bring Le Tour to God's Own County.

Whatever the reason the Tour de France will now be riding on Yorkshire's roads in 2014 taking in some of our most beautiful countryside, our historic cities and our most fearsome climbs

Stage One will start in Leeds heading towards Skipton and taking in a circuit of the Yorkshire Dales, including some famous Dales climbs, before the Finish in Harrogate. Total distance 118 miles.

Stage Two begins in York and heads out through Harrogate to Bronte Country and then over to Calderdale where riders will tackle Cragg Vale, the longest unbroken climb in England, before the daunting Woodhead Pass and a Finish in Sheffield. Total distance 125 miles.

The riders will be finished the same afternoon but you don't have to hurry, you can ride the very same route as the Tour in your own time and on the days you want to with Cycle Yorkshire.

We will meet you at the start of your chosen Stage, take your baggage, provide a top quality road bike bike if you wish and arrange overnight accommodation at the end of each cycling day. We'll also supply a fully detailed map of the route for you to follow and a Tour de France water bottle to keep you going. You can ride the route over 2 days with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take photographs and savour every turn of the pedals. Then on Saturday and Sunday 5/6 July 2014 you'll be able to watch the opening stages of the Tour de France unfold on the TV screen while sitting back saying, "I did that."

Cycle Yorkshire will take care of everything, including a free transfer back to Leeds or York at the end of the ride. Together with top quality B&B accommodation, baggage transfers and a support team at your service, we know you'll enjoy riding the Tour de France in Yorkshire.

Bring your best bike (no bags to carry) or use one of ours.We can arrange a longer 3 day ride if you'd like more time to enjoy Yorkshire or you can ride both stages back to back over 4 days. Just give us a call or send an email.

Flexible departure dates mean we can tailor your ride to when is best for you, just let us know when you'd like to ride.
